Ballot in accordance with Section 18a (2) BerlHG

Request: The student body of the Berlin School of Economics and Law should decide to approve the (proportionate) price increase of the Berlin semester ticket to the 29-euro ticket (AB) and thus instruct the General Student Committee to conclude contracts with Verkehrsbund Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH (VBB) for the continuation of the semester ticket in the solidarity model at the Berlin School of Economics and Law from the summer semester 2024.

Regarding the ballot about the future of the semester ticket 1806 students (92.43%) voted to keep the semester ticket, 141 students (7.22%) against it. 7 Students (0.36%) abstained from voting.

Because the majority of all participants and at least one tenth of those eligible to vote agree, the ballot is considered legally binding in accordance with § 18a (2) BerlHG. This means that the General Student Committee is free to decide on the models for a semester ticket from the summer semester 2024.

 

Ballot in accordance with Section 10 of the student body statutes

Request: The student body of the Berlin School of Economics and Law should resolve to call on the Academic Senate and the University President’s Office to amend the university’s constitution in order to introduce the office of student vice president of the university. As a result, decisions in the University Executive Board should always be made after student participation through the involvement of the General Student Committee and through the co-determination of a student elected by the Academic Senate.

Regarding the ballot about the request of the Academic Senate and the HWR to amend the Fundamental Statute to establish the position of a student vice president, 1852 students (93.82%) voted in favour and 53 students (2.68%) against. A total of 69 students (3.50%) abstained

Because the majority of all participants and at least on tenth of those eligible to vote agree, the ballot is considered legally binding in accordance with § 10 of the Statute of the student body.
