GATE-Germany: Content Marketing

This seminar is aimed at science managers in various functions entrusted with internationalization and provides an overview of important aspects and players in the internationalization of German universities. In addition to the central offices, international officers in the faculties, directors of graduate schools and research clusters, course coordinators and many others contribute to internationalization. Information and contextual knowledge about the background, goals and measures of internationalization are conveyed, strategic fields of action are presented as well as funding programmes. We cover everything from the status quo of university internationalization in Germany to structure-building internationalization instruments and measures for sustainable development through to marketing. On the one hand, basic theoretical knowledge is imparted, on the other hand, practical exercises are carried out in groups.

Dates: June 13 + 14, 2024
Online: Zoom
Registration deadline: May 13, 2024

Regional expertise United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Hardly any other higher education system in Europe is as different from the German one as the British one. Liberalism and market orientation on the one hand go hand in hand with a high degree of autonomy in academic, financial and administrative matters on the other. It is also this autonomy that ensures that British universities occupy top positions in international rankings despite the (systemically) low level of state funding.

Dates: April 23 + 24, 2024
Online: Webex
Registration deadline: March 26, 2024

Sustainability in sports clubs – what does it actually involve?

Inclusion, diversity, tolerance and human rights; sustainable procurement and sponsoring for the common good; environmental protection and resource conservation as well as climate-friendly action.

In our program from February to November 2024 you will get

  • Background knowledge, basics of sustainability models
  • concrete application possibilities at club level, practical examples
  • Ideas and tools to set small and large cogs in motion towards more sustainability in your club
  • Advice and support from experts
a network of like-minded people to exchange ideas

GATE-Germany: How to go virtual - university marketing with VR

Nowadays, marketing often takes place in the digital space. And universities have also long been active on a wide variety of social media channels, taking part in a wide range of online events or presenting their own campus in 360° videos online.

For some years now, new communication and interaction spaces have also been emerging, which have great potential for cross-border, global cooperation and also offer new opportunities for university marketing and establishing contact with target groups. Formats that create virtual mobility as a meaningful addition to physical encounters are in demand. Virtual reality (VR) technology, which enables new forms of encounters, is arousing particular interest in this context.
