Students exempt from the obligation to pay the semester ticket fee are students with the following characteristics:

Summersemester 2024:

• Auditors and secondary students as defined by the relevant higher education law,
• Students who are enrolled exclusively in evening, online, or distance learning programs without mandatory attendance (“distance learners”),
• Severely disabled persons who are entitled to transportation according to SGB IX and can prove possession of the accompanying sheet to the disability ID card and the associated voucher,
• Students in part-time degree programs,
• Students who are demonstrably taking a leave of absence or studying abroad for a semester,
• Students who are not members of the student body,
• Students who are enrolled in a study program with a workload of less than 15 credit points per semester,
• Students who are enrolled in supplementary, additional, or advanced study programs, or who are participating in continuing education programs, as well as doctoral students

In such absolutely exceptional cases, students must contact their respective study office (“Immatrikulationsbüro”) in order to be registered in advance in the administrative system as exempted from the obligation to pay the semester ticket fee.
